Introduction to Editing in iMovie

As a marketer, it’s important to have a varied skillset. Content marketers all know that video is a HUGE driver of traffic and engagement, and that isn’t going to change any time soon! So, it’s important to familiarize yourself with creating and editing simple videos. iMovie is a great platform to create on because it’s incredibly intuitive.

In this video post, I go through an introduction into iMovie. You’ll be able to see what the platoform looks like and how easy it is to navigate.

I cover starting a project, selecting clips, changing the speed of your video, splitting clips, detaching audio, adding music or sound effects, adding transitions, editing the video with cropping the image or adjusting the color, and adding titles.

In the video I mention that there are free music sites that you can use to download music to add to your videos. I’ve used FreeMusicArchive.org in the past and found it very useful. Just be sure to read up about licenses before you use any of the music!

If you are a more advanced video editor and creator, I highly recommend checking out Justin Majeczky. He’s a talented videographer who also posts very helpful video tutorials.

I hope you found this post useful. Have you used iMovie before? Do you have editing questions? Please let me know in the comments! I’d love to discuss.

Thanks for watching (and reading)!
